*First Lt. Dunbar decides to move out west to the frontier and asks to be transferred to Ft. Sedgwick.
*Dunbar and Timmons make the trip, only to find the fort abandoned and busted up.
*Dunbar stays regardless of threats of Indians all around and rebuilds the fort himself with supplies they brought with him.

*Dunbar takes her back to the camp personally.
*He makes friends of the tribe and Stands with a Fist, as translation is made for the first time between him and the Sioux tribe neighbors.
*He marries Stands with a Fist after a long time as other Union Soldiers find out about him, finally. They call him a deserter and drags him back as a prisoner.
The Sioux kill the two men and Dancing with Wolves (Dunbar) and Stands with a Fist move out of the camp to avoid trouble coming to the tribe.
Character Personality: Please be as detailed as possible so that we have a good picture of the character. What makes this character tick? What are their strengths and weaknesses? Minimum three paragraphs.
Thrust headfirst into the Civil War in the year 1865, Lt. Dunbar is now a union soldier who is disillusioned about his life. He joined the war on the Union side, only to find out that the war was hell on both sides. He becomes wounded on the battlefield by a bullet only to discover he is taken to a camp to get his leg amputated which only furthered his cynicism.
But mixed in with that cynicism, this man feels ahead of his time. Not fashionwise but his ideas are ahead of what a lot of social norms are at the time. He sees himself as just a regular man who doesn’t have his head in the clouds and is very grounded and down to earth. He isn’t a braggart and doesn’t like to feel important unless there is some grounding behind it all. He most importantly doesn’t care to share useless details about himself unless it added to a conversation.
He is a very simple man who enjoys the outdoors and loves what is most important in life. He doesn’t mind being on his own when there comes a need for it.
He also seems like a introvert who keeps his private life private and locked in his own leather-bound journal which reminds him of all his adventures over time.
He also has a very tender and caring side when it comes to sharing his life with his new wife: Stands with a Fist.
Powers and Abilities: Lt. John Dunbar has the ability to speak in two languages:
English
Sioux
Lt. John Dunbar, knows how to survive on his own, shoot a gun, and an arrow.

Network:
[First Lt. Dunbar has a gun strapped to his back, writing in a leather-bound journal that seems to be very important to the man in question. He only looks up when he feels like he’s being watched]
“This ain’t the Frontier. Where’s my station?!”
[He closes the journal and looks up, spotted wearing a bluish union type jacket you see in the Civil War and a bluish hat. He tips his hat as he takes it off]
“I apologize, I should introduce myself. My name is First Lt. John Dunbar of the Union Army.” “However, for simpler introductions, you just may call me John Dunbar. May I ask whom I am speaking to?”
“I’m searching for a fort. Can you help me find it?”
“However, I heard this strange voice when I was sleeping and it told me to “wake.”
Third Person: 300 word minimum. This is the place to show your character's inner thoughts within the setting. Give us a nice third-person narrative of your character doing something, plus how they feel about it. This doesn't have to be blatant "this is what my character is thinking, designated by italics!" but should rather show your character's self via their actions and interactions with their environment.
The Civil War lieutenant finds himself sitting in the welcome house, instead of worrying about the new tech, journal in hand. He had bent a pencil up and was drawing various pictures and new information he learned all the time.
He had spent the time building a house for himself in the forest without any help. He insisted it was the only way to prove he still was duty bound to his job. He wrote several lines about the forest and how non-bothersome it was to him but he still missed Standing with a Fist at times.
However, it was going to be a long time off before he would be able to finish the house by himself. He had gathered supplies while traveling via horse to get what he needed to finish the housing project before he decided to take a rest for the night.
Nautilus was confusing, to say the least for a man so out of place here.
One more entry meant another day in a land he wasn’t even sure he belonged in.
Sometimes he’d have dreams of talking animals, angels and more thinking he was going insane, or even meeting these creatures made him doubt he drank too much.
With the new device that ground coffee, he poured bent coffee beans into the machine making some strong black coffee. He poured some sugar in it and set it on the desk in his room.
His journal sat on top of his body. His most important possession. All his life details in private.
He opened another entry in his journal
“Dear Stands with a Fist,
I love you, and hope someday you can come here to this Nautilus and stay with me, forever.”
Dunbar (Dances with Wolves)
He closed the journal and fell back asleep.
